VETS Indexes, an independent assessor of veteran employment, has honored Eversource with its 3 Star Employer Award. Eversource, which became an EPCE member in 2007 when it was known as Northeast Utilities, employs more than 800 veterans.
The award recognizes excellence in supporting current and future veteran and military-connected employees, from recruiting to career advancement. Recipients are identified by a VETS Indexes survey of key veteran employment performance metrics.
“Even as more organizations than ever before are recognizing the uniquely valuable skills that veterans bring as employees, Eversource’s efforts to recruit, retain, develop, and support those who served, as well as their families, stand out from the pack,” said President of VETS Indexes George Altman. “We want to congratulate the energy company for its remarkable progress creating a workplace that welcomes veterans from across New England and empowers them to advance their careers.”
Support for Eversource veteran employees includes the Eversource Veterans Association and Eversource Energy Foundation. Recent sponsorships and grants have benefitted the 2025 DAV (Disabled American Veterans) 5K Run, the 20th annual Harbor Care Veterans FIRST expo, and several veterans-serving regional organizations.
Eversource employees have enrolled in more than 2,200 EPCE courses. The EPCE membership has also delivered more than $420,000 in tuition discounts to the company’s education benefits program.
Eversource employs more than 10,000 workers and serves more than 4.4 million electricity, natural gas, and water customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
